Concrete Foundation Association
We are a Certified CFA contractor who gets continuing education through many associations and institutes. At this CFA conference we picked up a lot of helpful information that will help us improve our foundation business. It was particularly helpful talking to other concrete foundations contractors from around the nation!
Demolition in Bethesda
Justin tearing another house down. Notice we haul out all the trash first to keep from mixing with the concrete. Another way to save money and recycle at the same time. Demolition on Monday, Tuesday, Excavation on Wednesday, footings on Thursday. This is a prime example of turnkey operation.
Concrete is cooler!!
Compared to asphalt, concrete is around 10 degrees cooler on a hot summer day. Plus who wants a driveway that can melt and requires more maintenance??
Bio-retention pond
That’s right. Bartley does bio-retention ponds.
Demolition on Grant st
Keith finishing a Demolition in less than a day and a half. Take a close look at the sidewalk protection to allow for pedestrians to use.
Demolition on maple ave.
Terry raising a house while we use a two inch hose to keep the dust down. No more garden hoses they just don’t do the job.
Concrete Driveways add value to your Home and last longer
Here is a concrete driveway that we installed recently. Below is a list of facts about concrete:
•Concrete is the better long-term value because concrete performs well for 20 to 30 years — about three times longer than an asphalt one.
•Because it is produced locally, concrete decreases transportation costs and pollution. Most of the liquid asphalt used in Maryland is trucked in from other states.
•Concrete is more rigid than asphalt, making concrete roads up to 4 percent more fuel efficient for cars and up to 7 percent for large trucks.
•Concrete reflects light, making the pavement brighter while reducing the energy needed to light it by up to 30 percent. Likewise, concrete reflects heat, reducing the “heat island” effect and ambient temperatures by up to 7 to 10 degrees

Builder’s Gold Award supported by Bartley foundation
On May 26, 2011 The Maryland National Capitol Building Industry Association presented awards for the Custom Home Builder Awards of Excellence and the Gold Award for Traditional Custom Home went to one of Bartley’s customers. The builder sent a letter to all subcontractors praising their work: “I wanted to personally thank you for your workmanship and attention to detail that made these awards possible. So congratulations to you and your employees for building award winning custom homes in a very competitive market.”
Congratulations to our Builder(s) and thank you to our employees!
A nice looking concrete foundation
Here is a nice looking foundation in Potomac, Maryland. So far we excavated the foundation, placed the footings and cast the concrete walls in place. Next will be the waterproofing, drain tile, interior slabs, backfilling and finally the site concrete work. Yep, we start with an unexcavated site and provide a foundation ready for the carpenters.
